20 years
ago Dr. Hiroyuki Enomto joined the work establishing the Japanese scientific
station, NIPR, at Rabben in Ny-Ålesund. During the nineties he was also part of
a one month long field work at Åsgardfonna east of Wijdefjorden. Recently he was back
in Ny-Ålesund to start preparations for the establishment of a new Japanese
station – preferably where the greenhouse is today. Dr. Hiroyuki is a professor
and the head of Arctic Environment Research Center in Japan. He has been doing
science in Antarctica, Alaska and various arctic sites. A very
interesting man!
