I Kongsfjorden er det relativt bra med fjordis. Men alt for lite snø! Breer og morener er knapt farbare, så vi må trøste oss med turer i nærområdet. Blomstrand og Jutta kan nås via fjordisen, det samme kan Jensebu. Sist helg var det flott nordlys over hytta mellom breene...

Aurora over Jensebu

During my six years at Svalbard I have never seen as much fiord ice in Kongsfjorden as this year. We can cross the ice to Blomstrand, Jutta and other islands. But the snow conditions are poor! The crevasses at the glaciers are hardly covered, and it is a problem driving your scooter throught the moreenes. We still hope for more snow... Meantime we enjoy the Aurora from cabins nearby town; like here at Jensebu last weekend ;-)
